Amanda Howland

image placement Attorney Amanda Howland has built a distinguished career as a dedicated advocate for families and children.  Amanda began her career as a Special Education teacher working with emotionally disturbed and behavior-disordered students.  Having served as an assistant principal and principal in area schools, she is passionate about the importance of a solid education for a child’s healthy development.  

Amanda’s wide-ranging legal experience includes work as a Judicial Law Clerk for the U.S. District Court-Northern District of Illinois and for the U.S. District Court-Northern District of Indiana for Chief Judge Allen Sharp.  She is former Chairman of the Illinois State Bar Association Intellectual Property Council and a member of the State Judicial Evaluation Committee.  In addition to working with our clients, Amanda is involved in the management of Hawthorn Woods Women’s Club, a philanthropic organization devoted to fostering opportunities for women and children in Lake County.  Currently she is also a candidate for the Illinois House of Representatives from District 51.

Amanda graduated with high honors from Central Michigan University with a bachelor’s degree in Education.  She earned master’s degrees in psychology with honors from Michigan State University and in educational administration from Northern Illinois University.  Amanda holds a law degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law, Illinois Institute of Technology.
